Is India Inc. losing faith in Modi’s magic?

  1. The upstart Aam Aadmi Party (A.A.P.), won 67 seats in the Delhi State Assembly in February, totally overwhelming P.M. Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (B.J.P.) and the (Indian National) Congress Party. Those two traditional major parties only won three and zero seats, respectively. And, that was just nine months after Modi had swept into power.

The AAP and Congress Party had always relied on their backing from “India, Inc.”, the Corporate-Government machine that controls most of everything in India. Not just government; but, the media, banks, retail, industry, travel, construction and the distribution of agricultural products.

During his national campaign, Prime Minister Modi had stated that: “…the mood of the Capital is the mood of the Nation.” Well, apparently the average Indians have not been happy with the amount of corruption and the way that India, Inc. controls all the sources of power and wealth and merely leaves them with only the crumbs. Thus, the election in the Delhi General Assembly might be showing just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
